Blose rules in Penticton

Rockstar Energy OTSFF Yamaha’s Chris Blose had a stellar weekend in Penticton, BC, where he crushed the competition at Round 3 of the Canadian National AX Tour. Blose won everything there was to win and he did it in grand style aboard his explosive Yamaha YZ250F.

“Tonight was a great night for the entire Rockstar OTSFF Yamaha race team. Everybody put their heads down and worked very hard and long hours from the minute we landed in BC. Great improvements were made on the bike and it showed tonight,” team manager Steve Simms said.

After qualifying with the fastest time in AX Pro and second in AX Lites, Blose proceeded to win his heat races in both classes. He pulled the holeshot both times out and kept the lead uncontested all the way to the checkered flag. In AX Lites his lead amounted to five seconds over second place finisher Shawn Maffenbeier.

Blose, totally on top of his game at the South Okanogan Events Centre, went on to snare victory in both the AX Pro and AX Lites 10-lap mains. He cleared the task, again with hammering down the holeshot and leading wire-to-wire.

In AX Pro he beat Jess Pettis to the finish line by a comfortable margin, doing the same in AX Lites, with Maffenbeier coming in second. Blose rode smooth and relaxed, laying down a steady pace on his YZ250F, which none of his rivals could match.

In the Clash for Cash, Blose proved a bit more tentative getting out of the gate, but that didn’t prevent him from following Washington State’s Ross Johnson closely into turn one.

Defending AX Champion Johnson made life difficult for Blose for the first 8 of the 20 laps, but once he got control of the lead, Blose sped off to finish some eight seconds ahead of Johnson. Noah McConahy, also from Washington State, made it an all-American podium by finishing third.

“The night was pretty much flawless. The team has put in a lot of work to make the bike better and better every weekend. Our starts were awesome, getting two of the three main holeshots, and

the third one we were right there. I’m excited to head to Calgary now as we continue to make the bike better and possibly win the $25K. There’s no shortcuts, just hard work. You know what they say, work hard, play hard,” Blose said.

Team Rockstar Energy OTSFF Yamaha would like to thank the entire crew for their hard work this weekend. Congratulations to Chris Blose, Steve Simms, Scott Donkersgoed and Kerry King for the clean sweep on the night and Steve Anderson for his additional help. A big shout to Andre Laurin for his endless support to us all.

The Canadian AX Tour continues this weekend in final round at the Agrium Western Event Centre
